An article I wrote for examiner.com on selecting high-quality quilting fabric. Yes, there is a big difference!
Book review: ‘Creating Your Perfect Quilting Space- Sewing Room Makeovers for Any Space & Any Budget’
I cannot say enough good things about this book. It has some great ideas for organizing the messiest of sewing spaces. If you are like me, you spend a lot of time organizing the large fabric stash, and then it gradually turns into a jumbled mess after searching for just the right blender fabric, etc. When inspiration strikes, the result is a slightly less organized collection of fabric, until it eventually gets to the total chaos stage.
This book also has some wonderful makeovers of actual quiting studios, and details all the steps taken from beginning to end. Hmmm- wonder if I can convince my significant other to turn our 3-car garage into a quilting studio?
Posted today on the examiner.com- a profile of local quilt artist Julie Brown Neu. I met Julie a few years ago at a craft show in Otis Massachusetts, and we had tables next to each other. She is a great person, and a wonderful quilter who does beautiful work!
This is an article I wrote for examiner.com about a great local quilt shop called Southampton Quilts. It is a very friendly place to take a class, get advice, or buy fabric! The last time I was there, I got a bit carried away buying fat quarters and small scraps to add to my stash, and it ended up being a lot more expensive than I had planned. If you are in the area, it is definitely worth a trip.
A slideshow I put together for an article on examiner.com of some fresh new fabrics for spring 2012.
